On June 28, the French National Public Health Agency released a report stating that the daily death toll had increased over the past five days. Since June 24, the agency has recorded about 1000 more deaths compared to the same period in previous months. On June 24, France recorded over 1200 deaths, with over 1400 deaths on both June 25 and 26, an increase of about 40% compared to the daily death toll in April and May. Meanwhile, French Health Minister Stphanie Rist said in a TV interview on June 28 that many French hospitals have not installed air conditioning for various reasons, and 30,000 air conditioners have been urgently ordered, which she expects to be in place "in the coming days." She also stated that the heatwave is not yet over.
