On June 27th, Qualcomm's Executive Vice President Durga Malladi announced that the company plans to apply its newly released data center chip technology to smartphones this week to enhance the local AI processing capabilities of mobile devices. The high-bandwidth computing architecture recently launched by Qualcomm uses a chip vertical stacking design that tightly integrates memory with computing units, significantly improving data transmission speed and efficiency. The first-generation products of this architecture will be introduced in data centers next year, with commercial availability expected by 2028. Malladi stated, "The technology in data centers will not stop here." The company is currently in talks with smartphone, PC, and automotive manufacturers regarding this technology.
