Honda Corporation held its regular shareholders' meeting in Tokyo on the 26th. The financial year 2025 saw a huge loss associated with the adjustment of the electric vehicle strategy, with the first ever loss exceeding 400 billion yen since going public. President Sebu Mitsunobu apologized at the beginning of the shareholders' meeting, saying, "The previous financial reports showed a loss, causing shareholders to worry and adding trouble, for which I deeply apologize." Regarding the decision to terminate EV development originally planned for production in North America, Sebu stated, "This was a painful decision. I am fully aware of the management responsibility to make judgments in response to severe criticisms," and on this basis, he expressed his commitment to business reform by stating, "I understand that returning to the growth track is my responsibility."
