Today, it was learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that the "Global Ocean Heatwave Forecasting Product" independently developed by the National Oceanic Environment Forecasting Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources has officially entered operational use. An ocean heatwave is defined as a phenomenon where sea temperatures exceed the local annual average for five consecutive days. This product can forecast the occurrence and disappearance process, impact range, and intensity changes of ocean heatwaves in global waters for the next week, thus enhancing China's ability to predict and respond to ocean heatwave disasters.
