On June 26th, the State Council Information Office held a series of theme press conferences titled "Starting the '15th Five-Year Plan' and Introducing the Planning for Accelerating the Construction of a New Energy System during the '15th Five-Year Plan' Period". Du Zhongming, Director of the Electricity Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that during the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, the nationwide fixed asset investment in the power grid will exceed 5 trillion yuan. The next step will focus on three "news". First, improving the new architecture of the power grid, focusing on building a new power grid platform that promotes the coordinated development of the main power grid, distribution grid, and microgrid, enhancing the security and resilience of the power grid, promoting interaction between vehicles and the grid, accelerating the construction of high-power charging facilities and electric heavy-duty truck charging and swapping facilities, and supporting the charging needs of over 110 million electric vehicles. Second, tackling key new technologies. Accelerate the innovative application of networked technology, long-term energy storage technology, and transmission technology for 100% green energy plants, and implement artificial intelligence + power grid projects to give the power grid an intelligent brain. Third, introduce more and better new services, continuously optimize the connection and transmission services of new energy sources, and greatly enhance the system's regulation capabilities.
