National Energy Administration: In the future, the western regions should not only export electricity, coal, and gas, but also export products and tokens.
On June 26th, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on the theme of "Starting the '15th Five-Year Plan'", introducing the relevant plans for accelerating the construction of a new energy system during the '15th Five-Year Plan'. Wan Jinsong, spokesperson and deputy director of the National Energy Administration, stated that during the '15th Five-Year Plan', efforts will be made to effectively meet the energy demand in the eastern and central regions, while also promoting the exploration of potential in key energy-consuming areas in these regions. Developing and utilizing local non-fossil energy resources, reasonably arranging newly-added supporting power sources, promoting the importation of electricity not only from distant sources but also from nearby sources. In addition, efforts will be made to guide high-energy-consuming industries to move in an orderly manner to the western regions, promote the coordination of advanced manufacturing, computing power, hydrogen energy industries with clean energy bases, optimize the spatial layout of energy-consuming industries, and in the future, the western regions will not only export electricity, coal, and gas, but also products and tokens.
