The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic performance of the communication industry in the first 5 months. During the first 5 months, the total volume of telecom services steadily increased, new infrastructure construction progressed orderly, and the user scale of 5G, gigabit, IoT and other services continued to expand. The access traffic of mobile internet maintained a fast growth momentum. Mobile internet traffic grew rapidly, with the DOU value reaching a new high in May. In the first 5 months, the cumulative mobile internet traffic reached 181.2 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%. By the end of May, the number of mobile internet users reached 1.634 billion households, with a net increase of 24.12 million households compared to the end of the previous year. The average mobile internet access traffic per household in May was 24.01 GB/month, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%, and 0.97 GB/month higher than the end of the previous year.
