The Beijing Municipal Finance Bureau released the fiscal revenue and expenditure situation of Beijing City from January to May 2026, showing that in the first five months, the city's general public budget revenue reached 3146.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%; completing 45.3% of the annual budget, exceeding the schedule by 3.6 percentage points. In terms of expenditure priorities, spending on science and health showed rapid growth. In terms of major expenditure areas, science expenditure reached 392.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%, mainly used to support the coordinated development of the "Three Cities and One District" and promote the integrated development of education and technology talent. Education expenditure was 547.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Health expenditure was 334.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, mainly used to support the construction of new hospital districts such as Tongren Hospital, promote the expansion of high-quality medical resources, and strengthen the construction of grassroots medical and health service systems.
