The largest vanadium flow battery energy storage power station in our country has entered commercial operation.
According to CCTV finance, it was reported yesterday by the Three Gorges Group that the Xinjiang Jimusaer all-vanadium liquid flow battery energy storage power station has recently entered full commercial operation. This power station is currently the largest all-vanadium liquid flow battery energy storage power station in China, marking a new progress in the country's large-scale, long-term energy storage technology application. With the acceleration of China's energy green transformation, the installed capacity of new energy such as wind power and photovoltaics continues to grow rapidly. All-vanadium liquid flow energy storage, as a strategic technology to support the development of high proportion renewable energy, is entering a phase of dual acceleration in technological breakthroughs and industrial implementation. China has the richest vanadium reserves, largest production capacity, and widest consumption market in the world, and these resources can support the industry's development needs in the long term. Industry data shows that China's vanadium product capacity accounts for 72% of the global total; the proportion of vanadium applications in energy storage has increased from 10.8% in 2023 to 16.3%, with the proportion of energy storage applications continuously rising. It has become the fastest-growing segment in the vanadium industry chain, providing stable raw material support and development momentum for the large-scale development of all-vanadium liquid flow energy storage.
