Two departments issued a work plan for cracking down on the chaos of indoor formaldehyde management and detection, and severely cracking down on the falsification of detection reports.
The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Work Plan for Rectifying the Chaos in Indoor Formaldehyde Treatment and Detection", which proposes to crack down on the falsification of detection reports. The plan focuses on the fabrication of detection data, tampering with detection results, and issuing false reports by formaldehyde detection institutions and treatment companies. It increases the supervision and random inspections of formaldehyde detection institutions, strictly investigates and deals with illegal and irregular behavior in inspection and testing, revokes qualification certificates issued by seriously illegal institutions in accordance with the law, and includes them in the list of serious violations of market supervision and integrity; those involving criminal offenses will be transferred to judicial authorities for prosecution. Rectifying the binding of interests between formaldehyde treatment companies and detection institutions. Strengthening quality supervision and random inspections of building materials, decoration materials, and furniture, exposing and requiring companies with substandard products to make corrections within a specified time frame, and preventing substandard home building materials from entering the market.
