China Mineral Resources Group is strengthening cooperation and exchanges with the Zambian government.
Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of China Minmetals Corporation, has successively communicated with Pamela Nakamba, Economic Advisor to the President of Zambia, Lawrence Mwanayanda, Special Assistant to the President for Projects, and Patrick Kangwa, Secretary of the Cabinet, regarding the progress and future planning of the construction of the Kambove Copper Mine project invested by China Minmetals in Zambia. Wang Pingwei introduced the latest construction situation of the Kambove Copper Mine project. The total investment of the project is 610 million US dollars, creating about 3,900 job opportunities for the local community, which is expected to increase to 5,000 to 6,000 in the future. Currently, equipment procurement, civil construction, and pipeline installation for the project are progressing as planned, aiming to complete the construction of the ore dressing plant and prepare for production or trial production by the third quarter of 2026. At the same time, the project always adheres to the principle of prioritizing environmental protection and actively promotes the development path of green "energy + resources" integration.
