According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics App, it has been learned from four informed sources that Qualcomm (QCOM.US) is currently negotiating with Chinese company ByteDance on providing chip design services. This move indicates that the American chip giant is seeking to reduce its reliance on the smartphone market, which is its largest source of revenue. If the negotiations are successful, ByteDance will become an early customer of Qualcomm's chip design services.
