Financial news app Zhtng Cijng learned that Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in an interview that Qatar plans to restore normal production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its undamaged facilities in a few weeks. QatarEnergy operates the world's largest LNG export terminal, the Ras Laffan plant. Since Iran launched attacks in early March, the Strait of Hormuz has been nearly closed, with two production lines at the facility damaged, accounting for about one-fifth of the factory's total capacity and leading to a nearly complete halt in production. With progress in US-Iran negotiations, the prospect of a ceasefire and reopening of the strait is emerging, and the company is currently preparing to resume production.
