"Opening screen ads are gone" trending on hot searches, 23 apps tested.

On the evening of June 23rd, "no more splash ads" trended on Weibo, with many netizens reporting that the splash ads that appear when some apps are launched are missing. A reporter tested 23 lifestyle, social, shopping, navigation, and other apps and found that 17 of them did not have splash ads, while only 6 still had them. Has splash advertising really disappeared? The reporter first tested navigation apps, opening Baidu Maps, Amap, and Tencent Maps, all of which did not have splash ads, instantly displaying the current location. The reporter then tested 20 commonly used shopping and social apps one by one. The results showed that apps like Tieba, Weibo, Zhihu, Damai, and Mango TV still had splash ads, while apps like Taobao, JD.com, Xiaohongshu, Pinduoduo, Xianyu, Douyin, and Dianping had become much cleaner, with no sign of splash ads upon opening. During the test, the reporter also noticed that the same app may have different situations on different devices. For example, with Bilibili, one phone displayed a splash ad with a 5-second countdown, while another phone went directly to the main interface.
