In May, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide were 52.863 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.172 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.3%. This is mainly due to the decrease in football events related to the World Cup and the impact of the decline in instant lottery sales. Among them, welfare lottery sales by institutions were 16.971 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.557 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.4%; sports lottery sales by institutions were 35.892 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.615 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.8%. From January to May, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide were 250.896 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.476 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.7%. Among them, welfare lottery sales by institutions were 83.331 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.648 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.3%; sports lottery sales by institutions were 167.565 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.828 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.9%.
