According to the Wise Financial APP, on June 24th, Hong Kong Secretary for the Environment, Wong Kam-sing, stated in response to questions from legislators that the Hong Kong government is gradually promoting energy transition based on four energy policy goals: safety, reliability, reasonable pricing, and environmental performance. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions and achieve the mid-term and long-term goal of "net zero emissions" set out in the "Hong Kong Climate Action Blue Print 2050", by increasing the proportion of zero-carbon energy to about 60% to 70% by 2035, and achieving "net zero emissions" and carbon neutrality before 2050.
