SoftBank's Masayoshi Son has given up his retirement plan in his 60s and will continue working for another 10 to 15 years.
SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son said on Wednesday that he plans to continue serving as the top executive of the technology group he founded for ten years or longer, overturning his long-standing plan to hand over leadership when he was in his sixties. The 68-year-old technology investor expressed his desire to now help accelerate the spread of artificial intelligence and transform SoftBank into a world-leading artificial intelligence robotics company. "I don't have time to retire yet," he said, mentioning that SoftBank is pursuing what he believes are fundamental long-term technologies. Son added that he has amended his original 50-year plan and will continue working for another 10 to 15 years.
