Li Qiang meets with Guinean Prime Minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana
On the morning of June 23, Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Iuri Urie Ba of Guinea in Dalian, who is attending the Summer Davos Forum in China.
Li Keqiang said that Guinea was the first sub-Saharan African country to establish diplomatic relations with the new China. Despite the distance between the two countries, they have a long-standing friendship. Over the past several decades, China and Guinea have supported each other in defending national sovereignty and independence, as well as in promoting economic and social development, achieving a series of cooperative results. Currently, under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Dunbia of Guinea, China-Guinea relations continue to deepen. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. China is willing to take this opportunity to further promote traditional friendship, firmly support each other in issues concerning core interests, and deepen and solidify cooperation in various areas for the benefit of both peoples.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to enhance the alignment between China's "14th Five-Year Plan" and Guinea's "Guinea 2040" strategic plan, make good use of Chinese zero tariffs, and upgrade policies such as the "green channel" for African agricultural products to China, to enhance cooperation in trade, agriculture, mining, and other areas. It is necessary to ensure the stable operation of key projects such as Guinea 2040, explore the potential for cooperation in finance, industrial parks, electricity, and other areas, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. It is hoped that Guinea will provide stable policy guarantees and a good business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest in Guinea. Both sides should also actively implement the "Ten Major Cooperation Projects" of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in education, poverty reduction, healthcare, human resource development, and other areas, and enhance the sense of achievement of the people in friendly cooperation between the two countries.
Urie Ba expressed that the friendship between Guinea and China has a long history. Guinea was one of the first African countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with the new China, and Guinea-China relations have become a model of South-South cooperation. China has achieved remarkable development achievements that have set an example for southern countries around the world, and Guinea looks up to and expects to learn from China's successful experiences in poverty reduction and modernization. Guinea appreciates the valuable assistance that China has provided for Guinea's economic and social development over the years, and looks forward to jointly implementing important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthening exchanges at all levels, advancing key projects such as Guinea 2040, expanding cooperation in trade, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, technology, and other fields, and enhancing the level of industrial cooperation.
