According to the latest data from Omdia, in the first quarter of 2026, the mainland China PC and tablet market saw a year-on-year decrease of 2% and 5% respectively. The total shipment of PCs decreased to 8.9 million units, while the shipment of tablets decreased to 8.3 million units. In terms of product categories, the shipment of laptops decreased by 19% year-on-year, while the shipment of desktop computers increased by 41%, reaching 5.3 million units and 3.6 million units respectively. The weak market performance is mainly due to the impact of rising component costs pushing up device prices, and the weakening of consumer subsidies further suppressing market demand.
