On June 22, in response to the controversy surrounding the Dettol laundry disinfectant advertisement, Reckitt Benckiser China Limited issued a statement through the official WeChat account of the Dettol brand, stating, "Recently, there have been multiple Dettol video clips circulating on the internet, sparking discussions among netizens. After investigation, it was found that the video was created by a third-party influencer for the Dettol brand, using a narrative approach with plot twists to encourage breaking traditional gender norms and promoting a healthy, confident attitude towards love and lifestyle. The video was first released on May 24. Subsequently, multiple video clips appeared online, which spliced and distorted parts of the original video, leading to controversy. We have immediately ordered the removal of the video."
