According to "China Water Resources", following the principle of safety and controllability, overall consideration, and in combination with the requirements of water storage and flood control in the middle reaches of the reservoir, the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources initiated the implementation of the water diversion and sediment regulation for the Yellow River before the main flood season of 2026 at 9 o'clock on June 22. They will carry out flood shaping pilot work and scientifically regulate the water-sand relationship. This water diversion and sediment regulation is expected to end around July 12, with reservoir scheduling lasting about 21 days.
