Li Dongsheng: Persist in the practice of "AI towards reality" and promote the coordinated upgrading of the Asia-Pacific industry.
At the 2026 APEC Business Leaders China Forum held today, TCL founder and chairman Li Dongsheng pointed out around AI empowering advanced manufacturing, stating that digitalization and artificial intelligence are becoming important forces for advanced manufacturing enterprises to enhance industrial efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience, and promote regional collaboration. "The value of AI lies not in staying in technological demonstrations, but in entering real industrial scenarios, solving real problems, and creating real value. Manufacturing enterprises should adhere to 'AI to reality,' promote artificial intelligence from technological breakthroughs to industrial applications, from single-point innovation to ecological collaboration, and allow more enterprises to share digital development opportunities," emphasized Li Dongsheng. In recent years, TCL has focused on the development strategy of "AI to reality," independently developing three major models: "Xingzhi," "Fuxi," and "Deep Blue," and has been deeply applied in industries such as semiconductor displays, intelligent terminals, new energy photovoltaics, and semiconductor materials. Currently, TCL continues to deepen the application of AI in core areas such as research and development innovation, production manufacturing, supply chain operations, and marketing services. TCL has deployed over 10,000 intelligent bodies, forming 500 "silicon-based employees," covering over 30% of workflows, and creating comprehensive benefits exceeding 2.5 billion yuan in core areas such as research and development innovation, production manufacturing, supply chain operations, and marketing services. When talking about regional collaborative development, Li Dongsheng stated that the enhancement of the digital capabilities of advanced manufacturing enterprises will further diffuse upstream and downstream along the industrial chain, driving the overall industrial upgrading. To empower latecomer economies in the region, the key is to shift from "product output" to "capacity building," helping more enterprises improve their level of digital development through experience sharing, capacity building, and ecological collaboration. Facing the new opportunities brought by the AI era, Li Dongsheng said that advanced manufacturing enterprises should promote the application of AI from technological breakthroughs to industrial applications, from single-point innovation to ecological collaboration, allowing more enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to share digital development opportunities, jointly promoting the empowerment of digital technology for various industries, injecting new momentum into innovation and development in the Asia-Pacific region.
