Journalists learned from the Ministry of Commerce that during this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the national consumer market operated steadily, with an ample supply of daily necessities at stable prices. The Ministry of Commerce's big data showed that in the first two days of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday this year, the foot traffic and turnover of 78 key monitored pedestrian streets and commercial districts monitored by the Ministry of Commerce increased by 4.0% and 3.5% respectively compared to the same period last year. The trade-in of old for new consumer goods also drove the growth of related product sales. As of June 20, the "trade-in old for new" policy has benefited 136 million people in 2026, driving sales of over 1 trillion yuan. Among them, the trade-in of old cars for new ones sold 3.428 million units, driving sales of 555.24 billion yuan. The trade-in of old appliances, digital and smart products sold 132.895 million units, driving sales of 451.63 billion yuan. In addition, the supply of daily necessities in various regions is sufficient, and prices are generally stable. Commerce big data shows that during the holiday period, inventory in 200 large-scale agricultural and sideline product wholesale markets across the country was sufficient, with prices of grains, oils, meats, and fruits remaining basically the same as before the holiday, while egg and vegetable prices each decreased by 0.7% and 0.3%.
