L4 mandatory addition of lidar? Xiaopeng makes an official response.

On June 20th, in response to some recent online media's one-sided interpretation and unfounded rumors about the "mandatory national standard for L3/L4 level autonomous driving", a spokesperson from Xiaopeng Group clarified through social media that rumors such as "L3 must have dual redundancy, L4 must add lidar" are false. Recently, as the mandatory national standard "Requirements for Intelligent Connected Vehicle Autonomous Driving System Safety" entered the public consultation phase, there has been a lot of distorted interpretations of the standard online, including claims that pure vision solutions will be phased out. In response, Xiaopeng Group clearly stated that the circulating rumors are completely baseless false news. After checking the publicly available documents and explanatory information, it was found that there is no specific mention of hardware types such as "lidar" in the text. These rumors have no basis in any provision and are contrary to the explanation provided in the preparation documents.
