On September 25th, the Rocket Force successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile carrying a training simulation warhead into the relevant international waters of the Pacific Ocean. The missile accurately landed in the designated area. This mission marked the first time since the full-range test of the Dongfeng-5 missile on May 18, 1980, that China had returned to this area of the sea. For Zhao Jing, a launcher operator in a Rocket Force brigade, this was the first real shooting opportunity he had in his 22 years of service. The risks of the environment and the severity of the test were unprecedented. The officers and soldiers not only had to endure high temperatures and humidity, but also had to continuously monitor equipment status and collect critical data for 24 hours.
