Japanese food company Nissin announced on the 19th that they will be recalling nearly 290,000 cup noodles that have been already shipped across Japan, due to the presence of foreign objects found in the products. According to Japanese media reports, Nissin received consumer complaints in April this year, stating that foreign objects were found in their "Nissin Cup Noodles Stir-Fry Sauce". On the 4th of this month, Nissin received similar complaints again. An investigation by the company found that the foreign object in the noodles was a roughly 10mm blue synthetic resin fragment, and the reason for contamination is currently unclear. The product was manufactured by a collaborative factory, "Tohoku Nissin Seika Co., Ltd. Saitama Factory", on March 10th of this year, and the expiration date is set for September 10th. On the day of production, the factory had replaced parts in the equipment used to add powdered seasoning due to a malfunction. Concerned that other products from the same batch may also be contaminated, Nissin decided to recall a total of 287,000 units of "Nissin Cup Noodles Stir-Fry Sauce". So far, no consumer health issues have been reported from consuming this product.
