The Beijing Flood Control Office reminded relevant units to implement rain prevention and response measures in accordance with the plan and to do a good job in flood control. The Beijing Meteorological Observatory issued a blue rainstorm warning signal at 16:30 on June 18th, forecasting thunderstorms in Beijing from 14:00 on the 19th to 02:00 on the 20th, with short-term heavy rainfall of over 30 millimeters in some areas, and local accumulative rainfall of over 50 millimeters in 6 hours. Please be cautious. At the same time on the same day at 16:30, the Beijing Water Affairs Bureau and the Beijing Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a blue warning for the risk of waterlogging. From 14:00 on the 19th to 02:00 on the 20th, Chaoyang District, Fengtai District, and Daxing District have a general risk of waterlogging. The general public is advised to pay attention to the weather situation and changes in rainfall, avoid low-lying areas when traveling, and take necessary measures to protect against underground spaces. In addition, at 16:30 on June 18th, the Beijing Planning and Natural Resources Commission jointly with the Beijing Meteorological Bureau issued a blue warning for geological disaster meteorological risks: from 16:30 on June 18th to 16:30 on June 20th, there is a risk of geological disasters such as collapse and landslides in mountainous areas of Beijing. It is understood that in response to this weather process, at 16:30 on June 18th, Beijing Drainage Group initiated a level four flood control response, and staff will enhance rain monitoring, with all command centers and flood control units being in place before the rainfall to carry out work in accordance with the flood control plan.
