According to the Securities Times APP, data from the central bank showed that, as of the end of the first quarter of 2026, the total assets of financial institutions in China were 55.634 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.8% year-on-year. Among them, the total assets of banking institutions were 49.472 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.0% year-on-year; the total assets of securities institutions were 1.915 trillion yuan, an increase of 25.4% year-on-year; and the total assets of insurance institutions were 4.247 trillion yuan, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year.
