Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, stated in a document that according to data from the National Financial Bureau, the compulsory insurance data for domestic commercial vehicles will see a strong growth in 2025. Due to the strong growth of new energy vehicles and the policy promoting vehicle updates, the overall situation of new energy commercial vehicles will see a rapid rise in 2026. In the first three months of this year, commercial vehicle sales decreased by 7%, indicating a weak overall demand in the industry. However, the market showed a strong rebound in April and May, with the sales of commercial vehicles reaching 270,000 units in May, a 7% year-on-year increase. The strong performance in April and May contrasted sharply with the recent weakening trend in the passenger car market. The cumulative sales from January to May reached 1.27 million units, a 1% increase compared to the same period last year, maintaining a trend that is much stronger than that of consumer passenger cars in 2024.
