Omdia: The XR head-mounted device market is expected to return to growth by 2027.

The financial app Zhtng Cijng has learned that according to the latest forecast from Omdia, global XR headwear shipments are expected to decrease by 12% in 2026, falling to 6.2 million units. However, the market is expected to rebound in 2027, reaching 6.5 million units, an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year. This recovery will be mainly driven by the rapid expansion of XR glasses, offsetting the decline in XR headsets shipments. Consumers and manufacturers are increasingly preferring lighter glasses rather than larger headsets.
