The three-day G7 summit closed in France on June 17th without issuing a joint communique from the leaders of the seven countries. This marks the second time the G7 failed to reach a joint communique since the 2025 summit in Canada. French President Macron said at a press conference after the summit that the G7 had reached a series of agreements on the Ukraine crisis, the situation in the Middle East, addressing global economic imbalances, and critical minerals. At the same time, he acknowledged that the United States and the other six countries have different positions on climate issues and the United Nations multilateral system.
