Currently, the Yangtze River Basin is in the main flood season. According to the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, today, the Ministry of Water Resources has approved the "2026 Yangtze River Basin Water Works Joint Dispatch and Utilization Plan". Compared to 2025, the number of water works under joint dispatch this year has increased to 135, further expanding the scope of joint dispatch. Three new water works, including the Yeba Gorge Reservoir in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, the Dujiangyan Reservoir on the Wu River, and the Niulanjiang-Dianchi replenishment project, have been added, and the dispatch plan has been optimized based on the latest research results. It is understood that since the approval of the first joint dispatch plan in 2012, the Yangtze River Basin has been conducting joint dispatch practices for fifteen consecutive years, expanding the scope of dispatch from 10 upstream reservoirs to 135 water works throughout the basin this year. The dispatch objectives have evolved from "single flood control" to multi-objective comprehensive dispatch for flood control, water supply, ecology, power generation, navigation, emergency response, providing solid water security guarantees for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
