National Development and Reform Commission: the national dispatch of power plants has reached a coal inventory of 210 million tons.
On June 18, Li Chao, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and spokesperson, stated at a press conference that on May 26, the National Development and Reform Commission organized a national video conference on ensuring energy supply to meet peak summer demand. Based on the previous systematic preparations, further arrangements were made to ensure the safety and supply of coal production. As of June 16, the national coal stock in thermal power plants reached 210 million tons, with an average available days of 34 days, providing a solid foundation for safe and stable supply. In the next steps, the National Development and Reform Commission will guide and supervise relevant parties to ensure the production and supply of primary energy sources such as coal, always maintaining a high level of emphasis on safety in production, comprehensively improving safety measures, strengthening coal transportation guarantee, and continuously promoting effective performance of long-term contracts for coal supply to ensure safe and stable energy and electricity supply during the peak summer period.
