On June 17th, local time, President Trump of the United States stated at a press conference after the end of the G7 summit that he might continue to stay in Europe to attend the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, but he might not because ultimately it is "not a document important enough for him to sign". When asked by reporters, he also joked, "If the signing ceremony goes well, I'll take credit; if it fails, I'll blame Mnuchin." When asked about the establishment of a $300 billion fund for the reconstruction and economic development of Iran, Trump emphasized, "The US will not contribute money", but if Iran "behaves well and follows the rules", the US will allow it to sell oil and allow others to invest in Iran. Trump also once again threatened that "if Iran defaults, it will be bombed by the US military." However, a reporter on the scene questioned, "The memorandum of understanding does not include any enforceable provisions." Trump responded, "Do we really need enforceable provisions?"
