Washington: Hope the market prices based on the actual economic conditions instead of following the interpretation of the Federal Reserve.
Federal Reserve Chairman Powell said on Wednesday that he hopes financial markets can price securities based on their own judgment of the economy, rather than trying to price them based on their expectations of how central bank officials will interpret data. He said, "The more markets focus on changes in the real economy, the better they can judge which data is more important and which is relatively less important, the better they can form their own most likely pricing." He added that this can avoid a situation where "financial markets are just constantly reflecting what we have said."
