Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Walsh said on Wednesday that other central bank officials generally believe that the US labor market remains stable, with some even considering it to be better than stable levels. He also added that trends are more important than specific data points. "The overall trend over the past three to six months is more important than any single data point or any single data release. I believe that employment data has been moving in a positive direction," Walsh said.
