Federal Reserve Chairman Powell met with the Inspector General regarding the renovation of the building, and is expected to receive a report this summer.
Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh said on Wednesday that he has met with the Inspector General of the Federal Reserve, who informed Warsh about cost overruns in the renovation project at the Federal Reserve's headquarters in Washington, D.C. A report is expected to be released this summer. The project has become a highly politicized issue after the Trump administration launched a criminal investigation into Warsh's predecessor Jerome Powell. Although the investigation has been dropped, this was a key reason why Powell remained on the board of the Federal Reserve after his term expired in May.
