Former UK Health Minister Wes Strein said in an interview that he could launch a Labour leadership bid as early as next week to replace Keir Starmer as Prime Minister, and called for an end to the "uncertainty and governing stalemate" in the current political arena. Strein said he had the support of 81 Labour MPs needed to launch an internal challenge. He said on BBC's "Newsnight" program that the leadership dispute within the party should be resolved sooner rather than later. Strein said, "I think the Prime Minister should be given this weekend to reflect calmly, and then we can see how the situation develops."
