McDonald's milk general manager Xie Yongliang responded to rumors such as "brand team ran away" and "have a fine KPI": malicious slander.
Regarding the recent rumors about the brand team running away and the headquarters imposing fines on franchisees for KPI, the general manager of the sugar water chain brand Maiji Milk, Xie Yongliang, said it is malicious defamation. He told Interface News that food safety and hygiene are core elements, and there are indeed appropriate penalties for stores that violate food safety, which is a necessary measure and also a regular management measure for all chain brands, with no inappropriate practices. Maiji Milk currently has around 1000 stores. Xie Yongliang told Interface News that the overall performance in March-April 2026 did decline by over 20%, due to factors such as the off-season and the overall economic environment.
