Remarkable achievements have been made in combating desertification in our country, with over half of the tasks of the sixth phase of the "Three-North" project being completed.
Today is the 32nd World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. According to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, in recent years, China has continuously increased efforts to combat desertification, achieving significant results. The "Three-North" region is the main battlefield for China's sand prevention and control. The latest data from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration shows that the sixth phase of the "Three-North" project has arranged construction tasks for 463 million mu and completed 355 million mu, basically achieving the stage goal of more than half of the time and tasks completed. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China will continue to strengthen comprehensive desertification prevention and control, promote key ecological engineering construction such as the "Three-North" project, and complete a total of 152 million mu of desertified land treatment and 29.32 million mu of rocky desertification land treatment. The degree of desertification in the country continues to decrease, and the ecological conditions in desert areas continue to improve.
