Hebei Province initiates a Level IV emergency response to major meteorological disasters.

Hebei Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning for heavy rain at 10:19 on June 16: it is expected that strong precipitation will occur in Chengde, the northern part of Tangshan, the northern part of Qinhuangdao, the northern part of Baoding, and Langfang from the afternoon to the night of the 16th. The precipitation in some areas can reach 50-70 millimeters in 6 hours or 30-50 millimeters in 1 hour, with some areas exceeding 100 millimeters. There is a risk of secondary disasters such as flash floods, debris flows, and landslides in mountainous and hilly areas in the above-mentioned areas. Therefore, the Provincial Meteorological Disaster Defense Command activated a level IV emergency response to major meteorological disasters at 12:00 on June 16. Relevant departments are requested to closely monitor the process of heavy rainfall, strengthen risk assessment and safety hazard investigation, timely initiate corresponding emergency responses, and do a good job in precautionary measures.
