Singapore plans to launch an off-exchange gold clearing system this year and provide central bank vault services to enhance its position as a global trading center for precious metals. The Singapore Exchange is expected to complete the construction of the off-exchange gold clearing mechanism by the end of 2026, with interbank transactions expected to gradually commence from 2027.
