According to the Intelligence Finance APP, on June 15th, the National Development and Reform Commission and five other departments issued a notice on the three-year action plan for energy conservation and carbon reduction in key industries. It was proposed that key industries with large energy consumption and high carbon dioxide emissions are crucial for improving energy efficiency, reducing coal consumption, and lowering carbon emissions. Starting in 2026, steel, electrolytic aluminum, cement, flat glass, refining, ethylene, synthetic ammonia, methanol, coal-fired power generation and other nine industries will be the focus of a comprehensive energy conservation and carbon reduction transformation over a period of three years, aiming to improve the energy and carbon efficiency levels of enterprises, and significantly enhance the level of green and low-carbon development in the industry. From 2028 onwards, based on actual conditions, the scope of implementation will be further expanded, and other industries will be added to promote development. Localities can carry out orderly implementation according to their work needs.
