Recently, the Jilin Provincial Department of Transportation revealed in response to a proposal to establish Jilin Airlines that at present, there are no approval conditions for directly establishing a separate passenger airline company. The Jilin Provincial Department of Transportation mentioned that the establishment of a local base passenger airline company is of strategic significance for improving the aviation network in Jilin Province, enhancing the regional hub capacity of Changchun Longjia Airport, promoting the quality upgrade of ice and snow tourism and border tourism, and serving the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin in the new era. Currently, the airport layout of "one main airport with multiple auxiliary airports" in the province has basically taken shape, air passenger traffic is steadily recovering, the cultural tourism market is continuously heating up, the route network coverage is expanding, and there is a solid foundation for cultivating local backbone aviation market entities. The provincial party committee and government attach great importance to this, and relevant departments have carried out multiple rounds of thematic research and feasibility studies on the establishment of a local airline company, the development of base airlines, and the enhancement of autonomous and controllable capabilities of routes. From the perspective of current national policies, the civil aviation regulatory authorities strictly control the total quantity of new passenger airlines and strictly control the addition of new building entities. In principle, new passenger airlines are no longer approved, only supporting the establishment of cargo airlines in accordance with the regulations. Taking into account the national policy orientation and the actual situation of Jilin Province, there are currently no approval conditions for directly establishing a separate passenger airline company.
