According to informed sources, the Trump administration decided to ban foreign countries from using Anthropic's most powerful AI model due to communication between Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and Treasury Secretary Benson and other U.S. officials. Jassy informed officials that Amazon researchers successfully induced Anthropic's Fable 5 model to provide restricted information that could be used for cyber attacks through a series of prompts. The White House subsequently held a meeting to discuss response measures and security researchers validated Amazon's claim. Ultimately, the government decided to address the risk by preventing foreign governments, companies, and individuals from accessing the tool, a move approved by President Trump. The government has long believed that Anthropic's new models bring difficult-to-manage security risks. In response, Anthropic stated that it will cut off all user access to Mythos and Fable to ensure compliance.
