Polish Prime Minister Tusk announced on Saturday that Poland will end the measures to cap fuel prices at the end of summer, considering that tensions involving Iran are expected to ease and prices will stabilize. In March of this year, the Polish government announced a reduction of the fuel value-added tax from 23% to 8%, reducing the consumption tax to the lowest level in the European Union and starting daily price capping on motor vehicle fuel. These measures have been extended every two weeks since their implementation. This Friday, Poland decided to extend the VAT relief and price cap on gasoline and diesel until the end of June, but did not extend the consumption tax relief. Tusk stated, "Throughout the crisis, our fuel prices have been the cheapest in Europe, but we will end this measure at the end of this summer."
