WeChat: In May, more than 2800 short videos with negative scenes of children were removed.
On June 12, according to WeChat Coral Security News, WeChat issued a notice on the handling of non-compliant short video dramas: WeChat has always been committed to creating a safe, healthy, and green platform ecosystem, in order to ensure the standardized operation of short video dramas on the platform and achieve a benign and orderly development, the platform strictly implements the responsibility of the corporate entity. According to the deployment requirements of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the platform continues to increase inspections and audits of vulgar and harmful short video dramas and to manage the operation of non-compliant infringing short video drama programs. Starting this year, the platform has strictly managed childrens short video dramas, resolutely curbing the setting of children's characters in a "adult-like," "tool-like," and "entertainment-like" manner, focusing on rectifying plotlines that go against the physical and mental development laws of minors, materialism of children, vulgarization of plot settings, and extreme content portrayals. In May, a total of more than 2800 short video dramas containing negative children's storylines were dealt with. The platform will also continue to standardize the management standards for live-action short video dramas, animated short video dramas, and AI dramas. Regulating the creation and dissemination order of various short video dramas, effectively protecting the rights and interests of users and the physical and mental health of minors. At the same time, through inspections and audits, the platform discovered that some short video dramas contained content with adverse value orientations or infringements. In accordance with the relevant national laws and regulations, as well as the provisions of the "Tencent WeChat Software License Service Agreement" and the "WeChat Mini Program Operation Specification," the platform has removed nearly a hundred non-compliant short video dramas, including content with improper value orientations and poorly made content. In addition, the platform has also taken action against non-compliant mini programs. In the future, WeChat will continue to guide the standardized development of short video drama mini programs, working together with all parties to create a clearer and more transparent online audiovisual space.
