Chinese Academy of Sciences: Accelerate the construction of national artificial intelligence application demonstration bases and national research corpora.

On June 11th, the National Bureau of Statistics held the first press conference for the "Data Elements x" action plan for the year 2026. Zhang Yun, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Science and Technology Foundation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the progress of the "Data Elements x" action plan. Firstly, focusing on seizing the core task of technology high ground, accelerating the construction of a high-quality scientific data resource system. The Chinese Academy of Sciences continues to strengthen the coordinated layout of scientific data resources, promote the aggregation and sharing of data related to major scientific and technological infrastructure, technology projects, and papers, continuously solidifying the foundation of scientific and technological innovation data. Secondly, focusing on the release of the value of data elements, actively exploring new paths for the development of scientific data elements. On one hand, in response to the urgent needs of AI for Science (AI4S) on scientific data, we are speeding up the construction of national artificial intelligence application pilot bases and national research corpora, promoting the intelligent transformation of scientific data centers, and continuously enhancing the support capacity for scientific and technological innovation. On the other hand, strengthening the overall supporting capability of the Scientific Data Central Center, improving the data element service system around key aspects such as rights, circulation, and evaluation. Thirdly, using the "Data Elements x" competition as an important tool to promote the transformation of the intelligent research paradigm through innovation applications of scientific data.
