The National Bureau of Statistics held the first press conference for the "Data Element X" in 2026 today. Shen Lifeng, Deputy Director of the Data Resources Department of the China Meteorological Administration, stated in response to questions from reporters that in accordance with the requirements of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" outline, the China Meteorological Administration is leading multiple parties to accelerate the construction of an earth system data platform based on meteorology, actively promoting reform in the allocation of public meteorological data elements, carrying out authorized operations, further enhancing the empowerment of economic and social development and people's livelihood by meteorological data. In this year's competition, the content of "strengthening the application of meteorological data identity identification" has been added, aiming to further deepen the research and development of meteorological data identity identification technology, embed it in the entire life cycle of data circulation and utilization, integrate it into the construction of trusted spaces and other new data infrastructure, support the extension of meteorological data identity identification to various circulation service organization platforms, and promote its benefits in scenarios such as low-altitude economy, energy production, finance and insurance, and smart cities.
