Savings bonds are officially included in the individual pension product pool to fill the gap in zero-risk assets for pension investment.

In the beginning of June, Industrial and Commercial Bank, Minsheng Bank, and other banks have added a purchase entrance for savings bonds in the personal pension section of their mobile apps. According to the joint announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance and the People's Bank of China last year regarding the inclusion of savings bonds (electronic) in the scope of personal pension products, institutions should provide related services for purchasing savings bonds (electronic) to pension investors who open personal pension fund accounts at the institution starting from June 2026.
